Month 1: Media Literacy & Research Methodologies (MLR)

Media Literacy & Research Methodologies (MLR) was the first class of the Entertainment Business Master of Science program at Full Sail University. Prior to enter Full Sail University, I had learned English at the language school in the United States for five months. However, it was my first time to take academic lecture in the different country in the different language. Therefore, I was very nervous if I can succeed this class.

From the online class, I learned the importance of the time management, how to use online media, and the benefits of taking class online. One of the benefits of taking class online is that students can arrange their schedules of taking class. It means students have more responsibility for organizing their schedules. If they can manage their schedules, they can spend spare time for doing other activities. In order to succeed online class, it is important to know how to use online media. In the MLR class, it was well designed to learn how to use iMovie and the discussion boards.

What I learned most from the MLR class were how to create my own learning network and how to utilize online information. In this society, we can find any information through the Internet. However, we have to know how to reach information what we want. Especially, the entertainment industry is growing with the technologies. Therefore, creating accounts on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Diigo in order to create my Professional Learning Network (PLN) was a great activity to follow the trends of the entertainment industry. This learning network helped to write a research paper about the sports industry for the MLR class as well as following classes.
