Month 4: Business Storytelling and Brand Development (BSB)

What I accomplished the most in the BSB class was I developed my business brand. I learned how important of the brand name and logo are. And then, I created a descriptive brand name, “VolunTripper”, for my business plan. At this time, I could not make a logo for my brand, but I chose yellow and green for the logo because the meanings of these colors match the mission of the business plan. Moreover, I made mantra, tagline, and corporate culture for my business in order to develop my brand.

In this class, I learned a different way of analyzing my business plan from the SWOT Analysis. I learned the PEST Analysis that is analyzing a market by political, economical, social, technological aspects.

Also, I learned the importance of market research. I researched on the volunteer tourism industry in order to clarify the market size, trends, and competitions. I figured out that the volunteer tourism is growing in Europe and the United States, but it is still small market in Japan. This market research contributed to finish the final business plan.
