Month 2: Executive Leadership (EXL)

This class was the first class that I took on campus. What I was surprised about taking class with American students were that American students ask questions to the instructor frequently and share information to the class. Japanese students do not speak out during a class, so I felt the learning environment at Full Sail University was very effective.

In the EXL class, I learned that there are five different levels of the leadership: Position, Permission, Production, People, and Personhood. Also, I learned important traits to be a leader. Through the lectures and activities, I learned why some people can be leaders and which level of the leadership they can be categorized.

In the end of the class, I had a chance to consider which traits I have as my strengths and weaknesses to be a great leader. I could find out my strengths are vision, integrity, and influence. On the other hand, I realized that attitude, priority, and people are my weaknesses. This class gave me great opportunities to think about myself because I had some experiences to lead teams, and I could compare what I had done as a leader with what I should have done as a leader.
